Easily the most authentic Slovak food in the country. Everything from ambiance, service and most importantly - the food. If you happen to be in this region of Slovakia, this is an absolute must.

Typical Slovak cuisine. Those who like to be hearty will definitely find something here. In terms of price, it actually works. The drinks are rather too expensive I think. The waiters are friendly and constantly clear empty glasses and plates directly, which is sometimes a little annoying.

Exceptionally good pancakes with ice cream. Fast serving of the food makes stay here more pleasant. Nice traditional feeling of the Slovak culture.

We were full of hope and expectations to finally experience great Slovak cuisine. First slow service as they are too busy. Salaš platter was ok, but nothing really special. Main dish Ľubovňa pork shoulder specialty was hardly warm and so was my friend's Hungarian goulash. The meat was chewy and tough, cabbage bland and tasteless. We were so disappointed — there are so many better restaurants around.

I visit Salaš u Franka every few months and it's a cozy traditional Slovak restaurant, famous for its classic dishes, especially pirohy. It's very popular and often busy. The food is absolutely amazing — the best pirohy I've ever had, served with perfect sour cream. Portions are generous and authentic, and the service is friendly and efficient. The lively atmosphere makes it clear that lots of people love this place. It's often busy, so you might have to wait for a table — but the wait is worth it. If you love Slovak traditional dishes and pirohy done right, this is the place to go!

Huge selection. Slovak specialties are of quite high quality, I had the farm plate. The service was not bad, they just didn't have the traditional Kofola on tap.

Unfortunately didn't have a good experience. One of my family members is celiac and made sure the food selected was gluten free. However the food must have been contaminated with gluten, as afterwards a family member experienced symptoms. Restaurants need to understand that gluten free is not just a lifestyle choice but could cause significant health issues.

Very good place to eat after visiting the castle. Very rich menu, tasty food and nice service. Also a convenient location with a large parking.

The food was amazing, reminded me of my childhood when my grandmother used to cook us meals. We returned several times during our stay. Highly recommend!

This is a Slovak restaurant with all the must-have classics made with local ingredients. Go for pirohy or halušky with local bryndza (Slovak sheep cheese) or with local zamagurský cheese. It is delicious and one of the best you can choose. The service is attentive and well mannered, even when the place is always full during lunch.

Huge choice and excellent taste of local food. Halušky (dumplings with sheep cheese) were the best I've ever tasted. Pstruh (trout) was excellent! Being near to Stará Ľubovňa you must take a break in Salaš u Franka!

As the most popular, they put less attention on clients. The food is good, yes, but the service is poor. Very poor. True is that the food is really good.

A very large menu. Main dishes are good, although probably reheated. Good sweet desserts. Acceptable prices though high.

We were full of expectations to try No. 1 in Stará Ľubovňa, but it's not worth it. Overcrowded place with slow service. I tried dumplings and bean soup, both traditional Slovak food, and it was not good for us.

I have known this restaurant for ages. I wasn't here for a long time, maybe about 5 years, but I still can say nothing changed. Food still delicious like before, staff nice and friendly! Me and my family really enjoyed our dinner here. Hopefully will be back soon.

We both chose Slovak meals. Wife had sausage and sauerkraut, I had the fried pork and pancake. Wife thought it was the best sauerkraut she had ever had — and she is Dutch, so she knows such things. It was delicious, as was the alcohol-free beer.
